In his five years at the Academy, he was a regular Honors Recitalist and was selected to perform for many notable artists including Karen Shaw, Jonathan Biss, Andre Watts, Fanny Waterman, and Menahem Pressler. After his first year at the Academy, he was taken under the tutelage of its director, Karen Taylor. With her guidance, he has received numerous recognitions at the state and national levels. He was a regular award winner at the Indiana Music Teachers Association’s Hoosier Auditions, which has awarded him first prize in every division at the state level. Furthermore, he has made numerous appearances as a concerto soloist with the Carmel, Muncie, and Paducah Symphony Orchestras. Today, he continues his studies with Edmund Battersby, to whom he is deeply grateful.
