Benjamin Gamze is 19 years old and is from Northbrook, a suburb of Chicago, Illinois, where he began learning to play the piano and violin with his first teachers: Lisa Siwek, Renee Yoo, and Julie Fischer. At the age of 15, Benjamin began studying piano professionally with Susan Chou, a chamber coach and private teacher at the Midwest Young Artists Conservatory. During his academic career at Glenbrook North High School, Benjamin became a piano accompanist for the Glenbrook Symphony Orchestra, where he won the 2015 Concerto Competition with Prokofiev Piano Concerto No. 3, Op. 26. Shortly after graduating in 2016, Benjamin began studying piano with Professor Evelyne Brancart at the Jacobs School of Music-Indiana University Bloomington. He is currently a sophomore majoring in piano performance, and he is also a recipient of the Premier Young Artists Scholarship.
