Igor Filipe do Amaral, a native of Macao, started playing piano at the age of 6. Since then, Igor has won numerous prizes and awards including the Macao Bach and Liszt Piano Competition, the Macao Youth Musicians Competition, Student Honors Recital and Concerto/Aria Night competition at Wright State University. He is also the scholarship recipient of the Irene Romanowski Piano Award, and the MacaoCultural Bureau Scholarship. scholarship!!! He also holds the DipABRSM Performer's Diploma from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, England. Igor often performs in Macao, People's Republic of China and the US. He has worked with many internationally renowned artists including Susan Starr, Alexander Korsantia, Phillip Kawin, Jonathan Biss, Vladimir Feltsman and Ralth Votapek.In addition to performing, Igor is also a piano faculty member at the Community Music School in Battle Creek and Hasting in Michigan. Igor received his Master of Music degree in Piano Performance and is currently pursuing his Doctoral of Musical Arts at Michigan State University while he is awarded the music scholarship. He is currently studying with Professor Panayis Lyras and Dr. Derek Polischuk.
