Joseph Bandi is a freshman at Westminster College in New Wilmingon, Pennsylvania where he is enrolled in both the Music Education and Piano Performance Program working on dual Bachelor degrees. He is currently under the tutelage of Dr. Nancy Zipay DeSalvo. Joseph has been studying the piano since his first lesson at the age of eight. He has been the student accompanist of his high school choirs as well as for some solo instrumentalists, the most recent being a bassoonist. In 2009, he was the recipient of an “Outstanding Accompanist Award” from the Music in the Parks festival. Joseph is also a talented vocalist, currently studying with Mr. William Ambert, and a French Horn player, currently studying with Mrs. Heather Johnson. In September of 2013 he was selected to be the horn player in the Westminster College Brass Quintet. He is also a member of the Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, and Symphonic Band at Westminster College. Joseph is an active member of PcMEA (Pennsylvania, Collegiate Music Educators Association) and a newly inducted member of the Professional International Music Fraternity of Mu Phi Epsilon, the Phi Omega Chapter at Westminster College. He also represented Westminster College at Shippensburg University this past spring semester in the 67th annual Pennsylvania Intercollegiate Band Festival. Last Year, Joseph was the recipient of the John Phillip Sousa Band Award as well as the “Outstanding Band Senior” and “Outstanding Chorus Senior” awards.
