Jimmy Goeijenbier, piano
Jimmy Goeijenbier was born in the Netherlands, but received his first piano lessons in Ireland at the age of five. He is a senior Music Performance major at the DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama under the tutelage of Dr. Mary Lennon. Jimmy plans on furthering his studies in September, pursing a Masters degree in Piano Performance at the University of Washington. He has had masterclasses with notable musicians such as Philippe Cassard, Barry Douglas, Philip Martin, Pavel Nersessian, John O’Conor, John Perry, and Sergey Schepkin. Notable awards include multiple first prizes in competitions at the Dublin Feis Ceoil, Sligo Feis Ceoil, and a licentiate diploma from Trinity College of Music with distinction. Jimmy has performed in venues such as the National Concert Hall in Dublin, the Residence of the Irish president, Áras an Uachtaráin, and has given recitals in the Netherlands and Romania.
