David Reid is a native of Denham Springs, Louisiana, where he started his musical studies at the age of four. It was his passion and skill that led him to pursue a degree in piano performance, along with business finance, at Louisiana State University. He is currently under the tutelage Gregory Sioles at LSU. David has been the recipient of numerous awards at the state, regional, and national level of competition. His achievements include alternate in state MTNA piano competitions; a three-time first prizewinner in the DeBose National Piano Competition; and a three-time first prizewinner in the Louisiana State Piano Rally. Additionally, David received the Ethel C. Tison “most musical award” twice, as well as first prize in the Baton Rouge Music Teacher’s Association’s Allen–Fleming Competition. Most recently, David was chosen to represent the LSU School of Music as the 2013-2014 Presser Undergraduate Scholar for academic and musical excellence. This summer, David will make his solo debut abroad at many performance venues in Italy and Ireland.
